Copywriting & Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

One of the neatest things about the internet is how much we can track it. I view a webpage as a creation. It's a malleable opportunity to connect people with the information they seek. SEO helps us, as publishers, provide information in a way that will allow it to be found by it's intended audience. Luckily, Philosophy majors not only learn to think critically and communicate clearly, they learn to write.

Interview! I was interviewed in 2006 by the Associated Cities Network, regarding my work with Denver.com & SaltLakeCity.com for Boulevards New Media. Read the interview here.

Below are some examples of web pages I have written and optimized to rank well in Google. I coordinated graphics with the client and worked with a production staff to build these pages.

Denver.com Internet Marketing PageDenver.com Internet Marketing Page.
This page has consistently ranked at the top of Google Searches ever since I wrote it in 2006. The page pulls in traffic and leads from ranking well for terms such as "Denver Internet Marketing," "Denver InternetAdvertising," "Denver Search Marketing Specialist," "Denver Internet Marketing Expert," etc.

Boulevards New Media, parent company of Denver.com, was so happy with this page that it was requested that I write similar pages for their other city guide sites. Some examples include the SanFrancisco.com Internet Marketing Page, SanJose.com Internet Advertising Page and Houston.com Internet Marketing page. All of these pages consistently rank highly in Google and drive leads to the sales reps in those territories. This idea of mine was a big success. I've even had local Denver marketing companies ask to advertise on the Denver.com Internet Marketing Page.

Gumbo's | Denver.comGumbo's | Denver.com Client
Gumbo's Denver.com optimized landing page has consistently ranked #1 in Google for the search term "Denver Creole Restaurant." This ranking has provided enormous business for the client (150+ calls and 30-50 email reservation requests per month, since 2006).

I have employed such tactics as linking to this client's page from the Denver.com homepage and building sub-category content pages to provide more inbound links to this page. I also link to this client's page from the Downtown Denver Page of the Denver.com Neighborhood Directory, which not only provides another inbound link, but also allows this restaurant to be seen by people searching for downtown information and area businesses.

Adams Mystery Playhouse | Denver.comAdams Mystery Playhouse | Denver.com Client
Adams Mystery Playhouse's ranking for "murder mystery theater," "dinner theaters in denver" and "denver dinner theater" bring in significant business each month.

The success of this page has afforded Adams Mystery Playhouse the ability to expand it's reach to the Denver.com site traffic through scheduling banner ads during key times of the year along with investing in a video service to feature on it's page as well. The video feature will make an important contribution toward converting as many "viewers" into "customers" as possible.

Blogs
Blogs are powerful & easy. They can provide excellent marketing and customer education opportunities to businesses. Blogs offer business owners the ability to manage the content on their own website, without the need for web design knowledge. Here are some examples of Blogs that I have built:

Six String Soul | Guitar Blog, Forum, Store

YourHomeHealthBusiness.com | Home Health Supplement Business Opportunity
