Six String Soul

My first website, the Six String Soul Guitar Blog, Forum and Store. A business plan proposed to my father, and a chance to write. With this site I have, and continue, to learn bits of coding on my own. Blog templates, Forum templates, Google Analtyics, writing HTML, editing CSS and PHP, SEO, ASP and keeping file sizes under control....these are a few of my favorite things with Six String Soul.

The concept of the website is to be an online publication with a primary focus on a very niche market: boutique guitar equipment. To make it even more niche, it had a unique spin: natural living. The Mind and Body forum in Six String Soul forum has really allowed guitarists (notorious for being unhealthy) to be realiaze a more sound way of living.

I conduct interviews with gear builders and also some of the world's most interesting guitarists (Bill Frisell, Eric Johnson, and Dean Ween to name a few). I write occasional articles, and I keep discussions going on the forum. Building up traffic to @ 200 uniques per day has been no easy feat. I expect to reach 500 per day in the not too distant future.

The #1 lesson I learned from running this site? Content is king. The #2 lesson? Good content is sticky.
